Q: Who sets the price for the services I offer?
A: You do. While Sears has a recommended pricing strategy, you ultimately set your own prices.
Q: Do we have to buy our equipment and supplies from you?
A: The Sears process is based on strict specifications for both supplies and equipment. You are free to purchase approved products from any of our approved vendors.
Q: Who does the advertising?
A: Sears creates most of your advertising and marketing materials. As a Franchisee, you are responsible for media costs and placement of all advertising in your service territory.
Q: Can I sell my Sears Home Services Franchise?
A: Yes. With certain conditions, you can sell your business at any time with Sears' approval of a new Franchisee.
Q: How long is the Sears Home Services Franchise agreement?
A: Our agreement is for 10 years. At the end of that time, assuming certain conditions are met, the agreement is generally renewed for an additional 10 years.
Q: Can I operate a Sears Home Services Franchise from my home?
A: This is acceptable until your operation reaches a level of growth which makes an outside-the-home office more feasible.
Q: How long does it take to get started?
A: Generally speaking, most Franchisees are fully trained and their businesses operational within 30 to 90 days after signing the Franchise agreement.
Q: Can I convert my existing business to a Sears Franchise?
A: In fact, if you now own a business offering the same services as Sears, you must convert it in order to become a Sears Franchisee. We have a very attractive conversion program available to those who qualify.
