(ORLANDO, Fla., June 19, 2018) – The locally owned Sears Garage Solutions franchise today announced a new collaboration with Home at Last Project, Inc. to help veterans in need of affordable housing.
Keith Fogarty, co-owner, Sears Garage Solutions said the franchise will donate a portion of all July garage door sales to Home at Last, which builds mortgage free homes for combat disabled veterans and their families.
John Russo, construction manager, Home at Last, said the non-profit has built eight homes, all individually designed to meet specific needs of the veteran. He said the organization solely relies on donations and that the Fogarty family helped with garage door installation in the past.
“We hope that people always remember that there is always someone in need,” said Keith Fogarty, whose father served in the Navy from 1961-1964. “When we support this cause, it provides a fresh start for active duty military, along with safe and affordable housing. It’s the least we can do for their service to our country.”
Russo said the organization hopes to build one home per year and that donations of resources, both financial and human, will make it possible for them to stay on track in 2018.
“The completion of each home rewards us with a sincere sense of accomplishment,” Russo said. “We can never adequately thank our donors, who are most responsible for the success of Home at Last and our veterans’ homes.”
